Spoonful - Salty Dog - Every Dog Has His Day (CD, Album)

Both Reveen and Bleacher have been missing from the rock world far too long. I am a sucker for this old school bluesy hard rock, and I know a lot of you are too.

If you are a fan of this genre, you need to seek this disc out. This CD was originally released by Geffen Records, but has sadly been out of print for years. Review by Skid in June Once in a blue moon, an unknown band is able to harness perfection, even if for just a short amount of time. Cult legends Salty Dog are one of those bands — a group that was able to latch onto a shooting star and go for a quick ride before crashing and burning.

Twenty years later that album, Every Dog Has Its Day , has been re-issued and brings back a flood of great memories. It begins with a memorable bass pattern before being joined by a drum beat that would make John Bonham roll over in his grave with envy.

It appears that Jimmi Bleacher left the band before these songs were written and recorded. The replacement, Darrel Beach, is ok if a little screechy. Production is mediocre, which is to be expected. Certainly worth a listen and is entertaining but doesn't compare to the debut and only album they officially released. Report abuse.
